"My life is wonderful because you are with me, you make me happy even if I feel sad and low. Your smile lightens up my life and all the darkness disappear"

Have you ever thought of proposing on Valentine’s day? I am sure the idea has crossed a few people but is it really the right thing to do? Proposing on the most romantic day of the year seems to be the perfect but the real questions is how to pull it off without being a cliche? Read our list of DO & DON’TS so you can execute the perfect proposal on Valentine’s day.

DO:

1. DO MAKE SURE SHE’S ON THE SAME PAGE
Either the two of you had a discussion about living together as a family, or having kids or you know she’s into marriage, otherwise if she says “NO” you will certainly remember the pain as Valentine will be forever linked to the rejection

2. DO PLAN IN ADVANCE
Restaurant, flowers shop, cake shop, chocolate shop anything related to valentine’s celebration will be in high demand, so getting the dream proposal venues sometimes can be hard to do in a rush. Make sure you get all the preparation needed by making reservations a couple weeks ahead (or even months ahead-no kidding).

3. DO NOTIFY HER THAT SHE NEED TO DRESS UP
By saying you are going to take her to a special place to celebrate Valentine’s day so she might dress up, doesn’t mean you’re spoiling the surprise proposal. No women want to be captured in the engagement pics using jeans or casual outfit.

4. DO HIRE A DISCREET PHOTOGRAPHER / VIDEOGRAPHER
Hiring a photographer to capture the moment is a must these days. She will be able to share the great moment with family and friends. You also get to relive (or brag) this special moment every year with her. Trust us you wont regret it

5. DO HAVE HELP
Ask close friends or family to help or consider hiring a proposal planner to take care all the preparation details, less worry, stress free, just focus on popping the question.

DON’TS:

1. DON’T WAIT UNTIL LATE NIGHT TO POP THE QUESTION
She won’t be expecting it when the ring pops after a casual picnic early in the day , it will be just as romantic and far more surprising.

2. DON’T HIDE THE RING IN RIDICULOUS PLACE
Such as in a glass of champagne, cupcakes, desserts, you might want to minimize the risk of choking or losing the ring as well as ended up in the ER.

3. DON’T THINK PROPOSING ON VALENTINE’S DAY IS CHEESY
If you are ready and think that this will be the right time, then why not

4. DON’T WORRYING TOO MUCH
Sometimes worrying too much will only spoil the surprise, if anything goes wrong try to be calm and just laugh at it and she won’t notice

5. DON’T HESITATE TO INCLUDE FAMILY OR CLOSE FRIENDS
After all valentine’s day is about sharing with people whom you care , so it will also be beautiful to share your engagement and celebrate with them.
